A varied school trip to Geneva
A school trip to Geneva promises an exciting mix of city, history, science and varied experiences. Our three-day trip also has a lot to offer: From fascinating illusions to exciting museums and tricky city puzzles to robots and modern research, there is plenty of variety.
Day 1 of the Geneva school trip: From the museum of illusions to fun at the youth hostel
Our school trip starts with getting to know each other in the entrance area of Geneva Youth Hostel. Practical: We can check into our rooms right away. After lunch together, our first stop is the Musée de L’Illusion Genève.
The different illusions leave the children filled with amazement, laughter and excitement.

Thanks to its central location, a visit to the museum pairs perfectly with a stay near the lake. Children can quench their thirst for adventure while discovering one of Geneva’s most famous sights: the Jet d’Eau.
This is just one of the many exciting activities Geneva has to offer for school classes. With its diverse mix of culture, history and leisure activities, the city is the ideal destination for a city trip with your class.
We round off the first day with dinner together at Geneva Youth Hostel. We then have plenty of time for a cosy evening of games in the youth hostel’s recreation area. Playing together, the children can unwind at the end of the day and share their many impressions with each other.

Day 2 of the Geneva school trip: Impressive stories and historical sites
On the second day, we start with the tasty breakfast buffet at the youth hostel. Re-energised, we take the bus towards Geneva-Appia. There, our next destination awaits: the International Museum of the Red Cross and Red Crescent.
Here, we delve into the history of the Red Cross and the Red Crescent and explore the fate of people affected by war and other crises. Thanks to the guided tour and interactive, realistic elements, the children can experience the stories in a whole new way.
A visit that’s not only interesting, but also important and thought-provoking. In addition to well-known sights, the city’s numerous museums offer an exciting way to discover history and knowledge.

Next, we head out of the museum and into the heart of Geneva’s city life for the “The Guardians” city tour. The puzzle-solving adventure begins with a wonderful view of the Jet d’Eau and takes us along the lake to the old town.
With challenging puzzles, the children explore Geneva in a fun way and discover all the different sides of the city – from historical themes and nature to other exciting spots and sights. This adventure calls for teamwork, a sense of direction and a good eye.
My recommendation: Take an adult with you. Since reading maps is also part of the puzzle-solving fun, they can lend a helping hand if needed.
In the evening, we have another meal together. At “Chez ma cousine” restaurant, we enjoy tasty chicken straight from the grill, served with potato wedges and salad to share. There is also plenty of time for exciting conversations and sharing about the day’s experiences over the meal together.

Day 3 of the Geneva school trip: Science through discovery
The last day of our school trip to Geneva also has a special highlight in store: a visit to CERN. After breakfast at Geneva Youth Hostel, the children look forward to the workshop that awaits them. Even the impressive terrain arouses curiosity.
In a one-hour workshop, the children experiment with Ozobots. This teaches them how important it is to have the right colour sequence so that the small robots can find their way. With a great deal of enthusiasm, they try things out, draw and paint until the Ozobots finally follow their planned routes.
After the workshop, we continue to the “Science Gateway” exhibition. There, the children can immerse themselves even deeper into the world of CERN and learn more about the research and work of this important research facility. Thanks to the numerous interactive stations, they can discover the content for themselves and experience science in a fun way.
