Have you ever been greeted by a personal letter from Globi on holiday? We have! Checking in to the youth hostel in Valbella. In addition to a letter, we receive lots of inspiration and vouchers for activities to be redeemed in the next few days. Each child also gets a colouring and puzzle book from Globi in Lenzerheide.

Heidsee lake: Animal fun and cool playgrounds
Our first adventure awaits us at the beautiful Heidsee lake: namely, several cool playgrounds and the famous squirrel forest. The best place to park is at the Julier car park. After a short walk (pushchair-friendly) you reach the lovely squirrel playground, which is also perfect for smaller children. You then stroll along the river through the squirrel forest. We are lucky and can watch the animals at close range as they play. The trail then automatically takes you to the small Heidsee lake: Here you have plenty of opportunities, such as pedal boating at the water sports centre, swimming, lingering at the playgrounds and sipping a coffee at the lido.

On Globi’s trail: The family hike
We’re highly motivated as we start the Globi family hike on Saturday. Even from the chair lift, we can see the large playground with its creative equipment. I recommend allowing plenty of time here 😉 On the Globi trail, our feet basically walked themselves. This is thanks to the many different interactive stations, which are spread out over a good walking distance. One of our highlights is the «Rega flight». By the way: Parts of the hike can be done with an all-terrain pushchair. The wonderful panorama, the crystal blue reservoir and the many alpine flowers are the icing on the cake.

Paradschier: Switzerland’s longest toboggan run
To round off the cool weekend, we take the chairlift up to Paradschier Adventure Mountain in Churwalden. Once you have put your climbing talents to the test at the creatively designed rope park, it’s time to head back down to the valley: either on the longest toboggan run in Switzerland or with the zip line.

Our home over the weekend
During our weekend in Lenzerheide we spend the night in the beautifully situated hostel in Valbella. From here, you have a fantastic view of the mountains and down into the valley to Heidsee lake. Thanks to the well-equipped family room with its own shower and WC, as well as the cosy lounge, we immediately feel at home. This youth hostel even has its own games room for the kids. We also find it very practical that we can pre-order a substantial packed lunch for the day of our hike. In addition, depending on the dinner, the youth hostel also offers a kids version. And if you like, you can order a fondue in advance. We think that’s great!

The bottom line: For us, our two-night stay at the youth hostel was almost too short. We still have lots of ideas for other activities, such as the Scharmoin Marmot Run, the Wetterwichteweg trail or the cool indoor swimming pool at the Lenzerheide sports centre. We will definitely be back!
